Biology:
Beaver and Browne, 1978: Attacked stems measured from 5-12 cm diameter. The gallery system has irregularly branched tunnels in one transverse plane. Browne, 1961: It is not uncommon in Malaya as a pinhole borer of cut poles and branches of about 2 to 18 cm diameter and has also been found in newly sawn timber. It is apparently not an aggressive species and is likely to do serious damage only when it attacks seasoning stacks in sawmill yards.
