Wood, 2007: This species is xylomycetophagous and inbreeds polygynous. They breed mostly in unthrifty, injured, or cut stems larger than 3 cm and apparently smaller than 10 cm in diameter. Type apparently attracted to light (numerous loose moth scales on elytra of type).
