Arixyleborus malayensis

Biology:

Beaver, Kajimura and Goto 2008: This is the only species of Arixyleborus which occurs in the Far East (China and Japan). Its distribution, however, extends from Sri Lanka and Northeast India through Southeast Asia to Indonesia. The species is polyphagous and has been recorded from a taxonomically wide range of hosts. Beaver and Browne, 1978: An ambrosia beetle with a wide host range. Gallery system resembling A. rugosipes. Browne, 1961: This species has been found in very small, cut trees of about 3 cm diameter. It is apparently not host selective.
