Cognato, Olson & Rabaglia, 2011: Several specimens were collected at several localities throughout Florida in 2010, suggesting that this Asian species is established in Florida, but it's rare.

Kirkendall & Jordal 2006, Wood & Bright 1992, Kirkendall unpubl.: A lowland species found in the tropics of Central and South America, in SE USA, and on the Antilles (Guadeloupe); it has also colonized the Galapagos Islands and Cocos Island. In Costa Rica, this species breeds in small diameter material, and has been collected up to 600 m.a.s.l., from a variety of branches, lianas and tree saplings. Wood (2007) reports that, in South America, he collected this species from the wood of broken, injured or felled stems ranging from 5 to 50 cm diameter.
